Reliance Industries, the petroleum to retail giant declared its Q1FY25 results on 19th July 2024. The results were disappointing, but there were a few silverlings in the overall picture.
The standalone revenue from operations came in at ₹134,331 crore which was 6.7% higher than the revenue from operation for Q1FY24. The PAT dropped by 20,94% to ₹7,611 crore. The EBIDTA for Q1FY25 came in at ₹14,315 crore which was a drop of 18.17%.

On consolidated basis, the revenue jumped by 12.7%, but PAT declined by 4.04% YoY. EBITDA improved a little in Q1FY25 over Q1FY24.

The retail segment showed a healthy growth in Q1FY25. The company added 82 net new stores in the quarter. Revenue of RRVL grew by 8.1% and PAT saw a moderate increase of 4.6%. EBITDA margin of the retail segment was 8.5%. As per the investor presentation, Reliance Retail now has 18,918 stores and a customer base of 316 million. The retail arm of Reliance operates in three segments:

Revenue of Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) jumped by 12.8% YoY to reach ₹35,548 crore in Q1FY25. PAT of JPL increased by 11.7% YoY. Jio Platforms is the digital arm of Reliance Industries. The company added 8 million new subscribers to its network. Jio has become the largest operator globally in terms of data traffic. The ARPU of JPL was $181.7/month.


The revenue of the segment increased by 18.1% YoY. EBITDA nosedived by 14.3% to ₹13,093 crore in Q1FY25. The margins in polymers segment were down 1%-17% YoY.

Revenue was up 33% on YoY basis and EBITDA too jumped by 30% to ₹5,210 crore. The average price realized for KG D6 gas was $ 9.27/MMBTU in 1Q FY25.
